Belgium GP 2008: Rain God helps Hamilton
What a climax! What a tragedy!
Kimi in the last penultimate lap spun and rammed into the barrier breaking his front and along with it his quest for 2008 championship. Hamilton despite spinning won the GP. Massa was careful to get points and was very cautious. He finished second. Inthis commotion Nick Hiedfeld over took 2 STRs and one more which one I was not sure. He finished surprise third.
Alonso who was keeping track of the rain all along went for a pit stop to change to intermediate. He came back and almost made it to the podium finishing fourth.
Rain also helped Vettel who was trailing behind his team mate. Bourdais fairy tale race gave him a 2 race ponits. May be STR will have a closer look at him before deciding on the next year line up. Sutil, the rain expert finsihed a credible 13th for Force India.
This race has given us the indicator that it is going to be a battle for Driver’s between Hamilton and Mass. Kimi has no choice but has to support his team mate and the team to secure the constructor’s.
Here is the finishing line up
