BMW Sauber now .... Ferrari powered
« on: Sep 24, 09, 14:17 »
Mario Theissen has confirmed that the BMW Sauber team will be Ferrari powered if it can get a place in the 2010 field. BMW name will be erased from the F1. Sauber F1 team which was earlier powered by Ferrari before BMW took over returns to Ferrari. In fact it was left with no choice. The alternatives are few. Renaults engine has become unreliable. Mercedes hands are full. Toyota? I am not sure whether they will continue in F1 next season. That leaves Sauber F1 team with Ferrari and Cosworth. It is logical for the team to return to its erstwhile supplier.

But RedBull and Force India who were Ferrari customers will be telling a different story. Especially after the sucess of both the teams ex-Ferrari time, Sauber teams decision looks like a blunder committted knowingly. Redbull took pains to leave Ferrari and so is Force India which was ready to pay compensation for the development Ferrari did for FI towards 2009 car.

But Mario Theissen is confident of good performance, we have wait till next season to know whether Ferrari selection is the right one. Ferrari gets a chance to redeem its image in F1. Hope Ferrari delivers.
