Sauber signs Kamui Kobayashi
« on: Dec 18, 09, 20:33 »
The biggest surprise is Kamui Kobayashi getting a race seat by merit. I felt he drove well. At least had the right attitude. But his efforts brought nil results as he did not score any points even though at one time he is fourth before he pit stopped. Toyota which was half way through to confirm him went down the drain and with that went his hopes of securing a drive. With no sponsor to help him get a race seat, Sauber's offer has come as a blessing in disguise.

Who will join Kamui Kobayashi is a question that will get an answer once Mercedes confirms it line up. If Mercedes opts for Michael Schumacher then it will be Nick Heidfeld. Other wise they have to  look for a driver with some experience. Will Jacques Villeneuve make the grade? He has driven for Sauber before unceremoniously thrown out by BMW half way through.

Sauber will like to do a Brawn in 2010 but their second driver will make all the difference.  Some of the other names going around for the race seats are  Giancarlo Fisichella, Pedro de la Rosa, Christian Klien, Anthony Davidson and Vitaly Petrov. None of these drivers have the mix of experience and have the attitude to be a leader in the team.
