Karun Chandhok makes it to F1 grid

As was predicted in our forum Karun Chandhok set to secure Campos seat, HRT Formula 1 team confirmed Karun Chandhok as its second driver. A happy news for F1 loving Indians.

Karun Chandhok will driver HRT car in 2010 series. There is no test session for HRT as the car will directly make its debut in Bahrain GP. Teething problems will exist for HRT in the intial races. Bringing the car to the race finsih itsel will be an acheivement. In this if Karun Chandhok beats his team mate in their one to one competition then Karun Chandhok will have future. Or atleast he should make sensational finishes in 1 or 2 races and score more points than existing drivers in F1.

But, Karun Chandhok will face an uphill task in 2010 to beat already popular Bruno Senna who beat him squarely when they were team mates in GP2 iSports. More over, Karun's form is not at present what he will feel it should be.

Hope Karun Chandhok realizes that entering F1 is not an achievement and it is only begining of a process that will lead to an achievement. Other wise he will become too complacent that will badly reflect on his placement for the year 2011.

When I saw him in ESPN F1 TV Channel on race days, I was resigned to a situation that he will appear in TV shows, luckily his father's contacts has helped to acheive a F1 seat. Hope he utilizes this opportunity and becomes successful.
