Star F1 Rules!
This is all the site rules and relevant info for StarF1. I thought it would be better to have all of this in one place instead of threads scattered all over the site. It will hopefully be easier to read through this way.
Welcome to StarF1. We hope you enjoy your stay here. If you are new to the community then please take a moment to read this. Members that have been here a while may want to read through this just to make sure nothing has been added that they may have missed.
StarF1 is a free board that does not use advertisements of any kind. All expenses related to running this board are paid by the admins.
•We ask that you respect our age requirement that you must be at least 13 years of age to register and remain a member of StarF1.
• Spam is NOT permitted! Promotion or links to other bulletin boards is not allowed without prior consent of an administrator or moderator, and such permission may be withdrawn without notice.
• No flaming, trolling or bullying! keep it civil. Be respectful of other members opinions. It's great to disagree but personal attacks or harassment will not be tolerated.
• Political and religious debates are NOT permitted here. Do not start political or religious threads. Debates on these subjects will be closed or deleted.
• Linking to illegally distributed copyrighted material is NOT permitted! Do not link to materials unless they are freely available on the artist's web site or an RIAA approved downloading service.
• Posts and usernames will NOT be removed from the forums upon your request. The only exception to this will be the removal of personal journals upon request.
• Language is not generally censored here, however, posts that are hateful, inciting, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws are prohibited. RACIAL SLURS AND HOMOSEXUAL BASHING ARE CONSIDERED HATEFUL AND INCITING AND WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.
• Do not challenge or harass the moderators. Any public or private attacks on the staff may result in immediate banning.
• Comments made in threads by members do not necessarily reflect the opinions of the admins or mods.
• Graphic pics or links to pornographic sites are NOT permitted.
• Duplicate accounts are NOT permitted. Formerly banned members are NOT permitted to return.
• Dramatic departures and threats to leave the forums are NOT permitted.
• Please keep signatures under 50kb in file size and less than 400x200 pixels in dimension. We don't have time to hand out individual warnings so if you notice your signature missing, it was deleted for being to large.
• Avatars can be any size up to 80 X 100 pixels.
• Once a thread gets to 500 replies it will be closed. If a member wishes to continue it then a new thread will have to be made. The reason for this is that big threads affect the sites performance.
• Members can send PM's once they have been here for two weeks and have made a certain amount of posts. This is to help deal with spammers, stalkers and people looking to start trouble with other members for any reason.
• If you have a problem with a member as a result of something that happened at another board then leave it at the other board. We do not care about it here. Registering just to continue a feud from another board is NOT allowed.
• Attacks on the admins will not be tolerated and will result in an immediate ban. If you have an issue or problem of any kind feel free to PM.
• Long time members that keep challenging the rules will be banned for a few days. Hopefully upon return they will follow the rules and/or not challenge the mods. If it keeps up then a permanent ban may be in order. Trolls and hardcore spammers will be deleted with no warning and will not be subject to a temporary ban.
Signature Size Limits
In order to keep the forums responsive and easy to read we all need to abide by the signature size limits.
The size limit for a signature is 400 pixels by 200 pixels in dimension including all images and text.
The file size limit for signature images is 50k or 51,200 bytes (1K = 1024 bytes)
It is up to you whether you want one large image or several smaller ones but the limit remains the same for the combined space. If you want to use both text and images you need to find a balance.
* Some existing signatures are much larger and should be altered. You may receive a warning message with a link to this thread, but after that, if your signature disappears you'll know why.
Many images found on the internet (especially animated ones) are beyond our size limits here. You may need to adjust the file size and dimensions of your images in a paint or image program on your computer before using them here.
Unlike uploaded images in posts, signature images need to be hosted on the web at another site. If you need a place to host your images we recommend
www.photobucket.comIt's a free service which gives you space to upload and store your images. Once you join and upload an image you can then enter the provided url link into your signature area, found in your user profile here at StarF1.
If you have further questions you may want to ask other members for help in this thread located in our 'Feedback...' forum.
Warning 1: Please don't post your personal information like your phone number address, etc, in any post as it will allow others to misuse!
Warning 2: If anybody abuses you, please bring to the notice of the administrator (username: vas) through a Personal Message(PM). PM will be treated with confidentiality and corrective action will be intiated.
